Educational text to me is having to read words that you are going to learn from such as books,newspapers,magazines,billboards,etc. Something that you can look back on and say i learned that from whatever source.
Non educational text to me is reading clothing. like the brands name how you suppose to learn anything that only has one word and that don't give no background information.

I think that even though there might not be any real information on clothing or whatnot, you can still look at it and perhaps retain the information that, "Hey, there's this shirt company called blah." Or whatever. It's still knowelge gathered, even though you may never use it.
